Is Thami Shobede  Really Dead? Idols SA Star Thami Shobede Is Dead. Information reaching our news desk has it that Young and talented South African singer, Thami Shobede, Sthandwa hit maker has passed away.

Thami Shobede is said to have died today in the hospital where he had been sick.

In an official statement about his death, Gallo Music’s general manager, Rob Cowling said “I can confirm that Thami has passed away. We heard about it this morning from his family as we were not aware that he was in hospital.

When his family went to see him today he was slightly responsive and passed away around noon today. The family will issue a statement and then we will formally issue one out after them,” said Rob.

DStv Mzansi Magic’s HOD, PR and Publicity for Local Entertainment Channels, Philly Kubheka said: “As Mzansi Magic and Idols SA, we are saddened by the passing of our former Idols SA contestant Thami Shobede.

“Thami was a very talented musicians with lots still to offer to the music industry. Our deepest condolences to his family and friends. He will be greatly missed”

Details are still sketchy about but he was sick and in hospital at Kalafong Hospitalm in Atteridgeville, Tshwane.

Thami Shobede is 31 years.

He hails from Mtubatuba in KwaZulu- Natal.

Thami Shobede is full time musician, actor and presenter.

He rose to fame  in 2016 when he was scouted to join the South African Idols journey.

Although he did not win the competition, he was the runner up and went on to work on his solo music career.

In 2017, Thami Shobede released his debut album, Never Lost.
