The first two members of the Thai football team have been rescued, a local rescue official told Reuters.

The BBC posted a video of an ambulance leaving the cave after the first two boys were removed and taken to a military health facility.

This comes as the governor of the province sent 18 divers into the cave to bring the boys out after two weeks being trapped there.

“Two kids are out. They are currently at the field hospital near the cave,” said Tossathep Boonthong, chief of Chiang Rai’s health department and part of the rescue team.

“We are giving them a physical examination. They have not been moved to Chiang Rai hospital yet,” Tossathep told Reuters.

There’s a flurry of activity near the cave with people being ordered to leave the sides of the roads following the rescue operation.
