Institute of Banking Personnel Selection more commonly known as IBPS is an autonomous Indian agency which started working as Personnel Selection Services . At the request of the Reserve Bank of India aka RBI and the Public Sector Banks (PSBs), it became an independent body. For the recruitment of officers and clerks in Indian Nationalized Banks, IBPS introduced a Common Written Examination (CWE) .
The candidates applying for the exam should possess basic graduation degree in any discipline from a Government recognized University.
The candidates should also have passed in the English language as one of the subjects at HSC/SSC/Intermediate or Graduation Level. He/she must possess the certificate as proof of passing of the qualifying examination.

The admit cards for any of the rounds will not be sent by post to the candidates, and the candidates are expected to download the admit cards for the respective rounds by visiting the official website of IBPS.
They will be asked to enter their Roll no. / Registration No. provided to them after the completion of the registration process. Additionally, they will be requested to furnish either the Date of Birth which the candidate had entered during the registration or the system generated password provided to download the admit card.
The admit card for the IBPS CWE- VIII will contain the details of the examination date, day and time. It will also bear the test center’s name and the candidate’s basic information along with the instructions to be followed prior and during the selection process.
Candidates are requested to carry a photocopy of the identity proof with the original copy. Failure to produce both will result in the denial of the entry inside the examination center.
The IBPS PO admit card 2018 will be issued 10 to 15 days before the prelims and mains exam dates and can be downloaded from the official website of the organization.
The candidate’s score card and result for IBPS PO 2018 is expected to be released on 7th November, and that of the Mains is expected to be out on 26th of December. An interview round of the selected candidates is expected to be conducted in the month of January 2019, and the result is projected to be released in March 2019.

Candidates are required to secure particular cutoff marks in each section and overall test determined by the IBPS to progress to mains and interview stage. There are 27 nationalized banks in India. Except for SBI and its associates, rest of the 20 banks relies on the recruitment made by the IBPS to fill its vacancies of Clerks and PO posts. IBPS PO Syllabus 2018 for prelims and Exam Pattern: The prelim round is conducted for an hour and consist of 100 questions each bearing one mark. These questions are framed to test a candidate’s knowledge and accuracy in the English Language, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning Ability. The marks obtained during this stage are only qualifying in nature and are not included in the final scores calculated for the selection of a candidate.

IBPS PO Mains Syllabus and Exam Pattern: The candidates qualifying the prelims examinations after securing the cut-off marks are required to appear for the mains round. This round is conducted for 2 hours and 20 minutes and the candidates are tested on their Reasoning, English, Quantitative, General Awareness and Computer Knowledge. The candidates should note that each wrong answer invites a penalty of 1/4th of the marks allotted to that specific question.
The candidates who qualify the prelims and mains stage are finally screened by a panel of experts to get an idea of their personality and knowledge. The Interview is a crucial stage as the probable employers test a candidate’s suitability for his/her employment in their organization which they analyze by asking various personal and professional questions.
The total marks assigned to the interview round are 100. The qualifying marks in this stage are 40% for General category and 35% for SC/ST/OBC and PWD candidates. The marks secured by a candidate in mains and interview process together are calculated to reach the final score. The Main to Interview round weight-age ratio is 80:20.
