Bishop Gilbert Deya Controversial televangelist has denied five charges of stealing five children from Mountain View estate in Nairobi.
He denied the charges of stealing the children between 1999 and 2004 when he appeared in court in Nairobi.
Deya extradition to Kenya to face child-trafficking charges came after he failed in his decade-long legal battle to remain in the UK. The self-styled Kenyan pastor claimed he created miraculous pregnancies.
His lawyer Cliff Ombetta has made an application for the preacher’s plea to be differed. Deya arrived at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport under tight security Friday morning to face child trafficking charges and abduction.
He has always claimed that he has powers to help infertile couples conceive ‘miracle babies’. Airport OCPD Zipporah Waweru confirmed the arrival of the preacher at 4.40am aboard a Kenya Airways Flight from London but did not give details of the extradition.
